The Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing – Indianapolis invites applications for multiple open-rank tenure-track faculty positions within our three departments; BioHealth Informatics, Human-Centered Computing and Library and Information Science. The appointments will begin August 1, 2015 at the Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) campus. Exceptional researchers and teachers are being sought to join our fast-growing departments. Candidates must demonstrate an outstanding scholarly record of research, exhibited by high-impact peer-reviewed publications and a forward-looking, vigorous research agenda that will secure competitive, external funding. By strengthening or complementing the faculty research and teaching in the department, the ideal candidates will use creative, innovative approaches and technologies to address fundamental informatics challenges with broader societal impact, and have the potential to leverage the strengths of the IUPUI campus, including its unique location in downtown Indianapolis, interdisciplinary and collaborative environment and nation-wide leadership in the health and life sciences. Highly qualified candidates at all ranks will be considered.

Qualification for all positions:
• Ph.D. or or clinical doctorate related to Informatics or other related fields. Applicants must have completed their degree by the date of appointment.
• Demonstrated ability to develop a record of outstanding research productivity and impact. The ability to secure external funding will be considered a strong competitive advantage and critical factor in the assessment of the candidates.
• Demonstrated ability to exhibit effective teaching and to creatively adapt and diversify pedagogy for online or blended learning.
Department of BioHealth Informatics
While we are seeking candidates in all areas of Health and Biomedical Informatics, BioHealth Informatics (BHI), we are particularly interested in those with strong research and teaching experience in the following areas: (1) Community, consumer health and social informatics; (2) Learning healthcare system, including clinical intelligence, translational biomedical and clinical informatics; and (3) Big data, data analytics and data science.
Specific Qualifications for BHI
• Ph.D. or clinical doctorate (M.D., D.N.P., D.D.S. or Pharm.D.), a doctorate in clinical or related Informatics, Information Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Communications or other Social Sciences, or related fields. Applicants must have completed their degree by the date of appointment.
Department of Human-Centered Computing
While we are seeking candidates in all areas of Human-Centered Computing (HCC), we are particularly interested in those with strong research and teaching experience in the broadly defined area of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), including data and visual analytics for informatics problems.

Specific Qualifications for HCC
• Ph.D. in an area such as Human-Centered Computing, Human-Computer Interaction, Informatics, Information Science, Computer Science, Communications, or related fields. Applicants must have completed their degree by the date of appointment.
Department of Library and Information Science
Areas of current and future interest for the Department of Library and Information Science (LIS) are: digital resources (community heritage, data management, data curation, digital libraries); technology (information system design user interaction) and children and youth. LIS has an ALA accredited Master of Library Science degree program delivered through online methods. Coursework emphasizes technology, leadership, and professionalism.

Specific qualifications for LIS
• Ph.D. in Library or Information Science or related fields; accredited MLS (or Ed.D. and masters in education for school-media focus). Applicants must have completed their degree by the date of appointment. Professional experience strongly preferred.
• Candidates must demonstrate commitment to the library/information management professions with relevant research and engaged teaching.
• Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and interact effectively with students in an online program.
