The College of Engineering and Computer Science at Wright State University seeks applicants for the position of Chair of the Department of Biomedical, Industrial and Human Factors Engineering. A PhD in biomedical, industrial or human factors engineering or a closely related field from an accredited university is required, along with a record commensurate with appointment as a full professor. Candidates should exhibit proven leadership skills; a propensity for administration; experience with undergraduate and graduate programs; and familiarity with ABET accreditation. The department comprises 17 full-time faculty, approximately 130 graduate students (36% Biomedical, 46% Industrial and Human Factors, 18% Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship) and nearly 500 current and intending undergraduates (72% Biomedical, 28% Industrial and Systems). WSU is a public institution of over 19,000 students located near the Air Force Research Laboratory, and numerous technology enterprises. Required Qualifications:
(1) A doctoral degree in biomedical, industrial or human factors engineering or a related field
(2) A record of excellence in teaching, advising, scholarship, and funding exceeding requirements of the rank of full professor
(3) A record of leadership and effective interpersonal and communication skills
(4) A record of successful experiences with curriculum and/or accreditation issues
(5) A record of effective budget and financial management skills

Preferred Qualifications:
(1) Experience in regional entrepreneurship, technology transfer and commercialization
(2) Experience in recruiting students at all levels
(3) Experience in building academic partnerships
(4) Leadership experience in diverse, multi-disciplinary environments
