The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University invites applications for several tenure/tenure-track faculty positions. The positions can be filled at any faculty rank, from assistant professor to full professor. Candidates are sought with interests that complement and expand upon current research and teaching activities in the Department. Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

Advanced Manufacturing
Advanced Materials
Aerospace and Astronautics
Biomedical Engineering
Energy Engineering and Public Policy
Systems Engineering

These faculty positions are full-time nine-month appointments. Successful candidates are expected to build and maintain a strong, internationally recognized research program supported through external funding, to enhance the Department's educational programs, and to provide service to the University and broader community. Successful candidates will be expected to teach courses in our mechanical engineering curriculum at the undergraduate, M.S. and Ph.D. levels, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and develop advanced courses in his or her areas of expertise. A Ph.D. or equivalent in mechanical engineering or a closely related field is required. Candidates at the junior level should demonstrate great promise for extraordinary scholarship, and preferably have post-doctoral experience in an academic, government, or industrial setting. Candidates at more senior levels must have a distinguished research, teaching, and service record commensurate with experience. For senior applicants, a record of national and international engagement in the mechanical engineering community would be an advantage. Relevant industry and industry engagement experience would be an advantage. Candidates at all levels must exhibit ability and enthusiasm to teach courses in the Department’s undergraduate and graduate curriculum and demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to diversity.
