(1) The Department of Mathematics at the University of Dayton invites applications for a tenure track position in areas of specialization related to financial mathematics at the assistant professor level starting in August 2013. This position is intended to assist in the operation of our Master in Financial Mathematics (MFM) program as well as support the undergraduate program in mathematics. Applicants must have completed all requirements for a PhD in mathematics by August 16, 2013. Applicants must have a strong commitment to research, and the potential to become an effective teacher. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a research agenda, teaching a broad range of mathematics courses, advising, and curriculum development for the MFM program. The applicant will also be expected to direct the research projects of graduate students within the MFM program and to work with students from diverse backgrounds.

(2) The Department of Mathematics at the University of Dayton invites applications for a tenure track position in either algebra or computational mathematics at the assistant professor level starting in August 2013. This position is intended to support the undergraduate program in mathematics. Applicants must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. in mathematics by August 16, 2013. Applicants must have a strong commitment to research, and the potential to become an effective teacher. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a research agenda, teaching a broad range of undergraduate mathematics courses, and undergraduate advising and mentoring. The applicant will also be expected to direct undergraduate students working on research projects as opportunities arise and to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
