The Computer Science and Software Engineering Department at
Seattle University invites applications for a tenure-track position beginning
September 2013 at the rank of assistant professor. Applicants must
have teaching and research expertise in one of the following areas: mobile
computing, artificial intelligence/machine learning, data mining/data
analytics, or human-computer interaction.
The Computer Science and Software Engineering Department is a component of the College of Science and Engineering. It offers undergraduate and masters degrees in computer science and operates the nation’s oldest Master of Software Engineering program. The department has strong relationships with many local companies, including the leading technology companies headquartered nearby. A student project program sponsored by these companies enhances our students’ educational experiences and provides faculty with ongoing opportunities for interaction with industry.
Seattle University, founded in 1891, is a Jesuit Catholic university located on 48 acres on Seattle’s Capitol Hill. More than 7,700 students are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs within eight schools. Requirements include: a Ph.D. in computer science or a related discipline; a demonstrated interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduates as well as graduate students; strong teaching recommendations; a commitment to continued scholarly growth, and to contributing to the mission of Seattle University.Candidates having expertise with teaching in an online environment are strongly encouraged to apply.
