The College of Engineering at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a non-‐tenure
track Assistant Professor of Engineering Practice faculty position. Applicants must possess an
earned doctorate in an engineering discipline, preferably in Mechanical Engineering. While this
position is primarily for teaching foundational engineering courses such as Statics, Dynamics, and
Thermodynamics, research in the areas of engineering education, scholarship of teaching and
learning, and professional development is expected. The successful candidate should have a proven
track record of teaching excellence and an interest in promoting experiential learning in the
foundational engineering courses. Also, the successful candidate would serve as creativity and
innovation catalyst both in courses and extracurricular programs such as the competition teams
housed in the Exxon/Mobil Lawrence G. Rawl Engineering Practice Facility (REPF), including the
Sooner Racing (Formula SAE), AIAA Design-‐Build-‐Fly, and the Sooner Human Powered Vehicle
student teams. The position is a three-‐year renewable term faculty position with the opportunity
to advance to the ranks of Associate and Full Professor of Engineering Practice.
