petroleum engineering degree program on the Starkville campus. Within the next two years the
Bagley College will expand its electrical and mechanical engineering programs to the campus of
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC). These programs will be completely
MSU run. Students will be MSU students taking engineering classes taught by MSU faculty on
the MGCCC campus.
Research units with which college faculty are affiliated include but are not limited to, the Center
for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS), Center for Computational Sciences (CCS), Center for
Computer Security Research (CCSR), Geosystems Research Institute (GRI), High Performance
Computing Collaboratory (HPCC), Institute for Genomics, Biocomputing & Biotechnology
(IGBB), Northern Gulf Institute (NGI), Institute for Clean Energy Technology (ICET), Raspet
Flight Research Laboratory (RFRL), and Sustainable Energy Research Center (SERC).
Minimum requirements for the position include an earned doctorate in engineering, computer
science, or a closely related field, and credentials to qualify for the rank of professor in one of the college programs. Experience in academic administration, budget management, personnel
management, and strategic planning is expected, as well as experience with ABET accreditation.
Candidates must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and have a demonstrated
