Associate, or Full Professor Positions Available
The Department of
Mechanical Engineering at Iowa State University (www.me.iastate.edu) invites applications for
multiple
tenure-track or tenured faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full
Professor ranks. Exceptional
candidates with
specializations relevant to traditional and emerging areas of mechanical
engineering will be considered. The department’s core expertise is in the areas
of Design and Optimization, Dynamic Systems and Controls,
Manufacturing and
Mechanics and Thermofluids. Particular attention will be given to candidates
with research interests in Biological and Nanoscale Sciences, Clean Energy
Technologies, Complex Fluid Systems, Design and Manufacturing Innovation and
Simulation and Visualization.
Successful
candidates are expected to develop a world-class research program, teach
undergraduate and graduate
courses, and engage
in professional and institutional service.

The Department of
Mechanical Engineering is nationally recognized for its interdisciplinary
research and educational programs. Collaborative research is highly emphasized
by the department and facilitated by on-campus research
enterprises such as
the Bioeconomy Institute, the Ames National Laboratory of the U.S. Department
of Energy,
Agricultural
Research Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA-ARS), the Center
for Non-Destructive
Evaluation, and the
Virtual Reality Applications Center.
Iowa State
