The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Seattle University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning September 2015. Candidates with educational, research, or industrial experience in thermal, fluid or energy field are encouraged to apply.

The Mechanical Engineering Department is housed within the College of Science and Engineering.  The undergraduate mechanical engineering program is ABET accredited and supports the university’s mission of educating the whole person, professional formation, and empowering leaders for a just and humane world. 

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in teaching and mentoring students; an established record of research; an interest in pursuing external funding; and a genuine desire to contribute to the mission of Seattle University. Candidates having expertise with teaching in an online or hybrid environment are encouraged to apply.  Responsibilities will include teaching, maintaining an active research program and providing service to the university, such as assisting in the development of new graduate programs. 

Requirements: Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or a related field.
