Position in Aerospace Engineering, Cornell University
The SIBLEY
SCHOOL OF MECHANICAL AND AEROSPACE ENGINEERING AT CORNELL UNIVERSITY, Ithaca,
New York invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Aerospace,
with an emphasis towards space related technologies. Candidates must hold a
doctorate in an appropriate field and are expected to establish an outstanding,
funded research program as well as contribute fully to both undergraduate and
graduate instruction. Applicants at the level of Assistant Professor are
preferred but appointments at the Associate Professor level will be considered.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
We seek
outstanding individuals engaged in computational, theoretical and/or
experimental research in Aerospace Engineering. Areas of interest include
astrodynamics, novel satellite concepts and designs, space mission analysis and
optimization, human space flight, propulsion, and other space related
technologies. This search is particularly interested in building stronger
connections between Cornell’s Engineering and Space Sciences research areas.
Applicants should have strong depth and ties to one or more of the Sibley
School’s disciplines, e.g., dynamics and control, systems engineering, fluid
dynamics, solid mechanics, thermal sciences, and applied and computational
mathematics.

outstanding opportunities to interact with a number of programs across the
university, including the Center for Radiophysics and Space Research,
Department of Astronomy and Space Sciences, Space Science and Plasma Physics
research group, Cornell Nanofabrication Facility, Cornell Center for Materials
Research, Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source.
