POSITION: Two tenure-track Assistant professor positions
NOTES:
The Wichita State University College of Engineering invites
applications for two tenure-track position in the Department of Industrial and
Manufacturing Engineering at the Assistant Professor rank, starting August
2013.
The first position requires expertise in manufacturing processes,
with a strong background in one or more areas in mechanics, robotics, material
science, composites, or nano-technology. A Ph.D. in industrial engineering,
manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or other related field is
required. Candidates must have the background to teach undergraduate and
graduate level courses in manufacturing processes, micro/nano-manufacturing,
and/or composites.
Candidates for the second position are required to have a
background in systems engineering, a BS in Industrial, Production, or Systems
Engineering, and a Ph.D. in industrial engineering or other related field to
teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in and establish a research
focus in production systems, service systems, healthcare systems, or energy
systems.
In addition, candidates for both positions must have a strong
record of scholarly achievement, familiarity with writing proposals for
competitive funding, and effective oral and written communication skills.
The successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate
courses, secure and conduct externally funded research, publish scholarly work,
advice undergraduate and graduate (including Ph.D. level) students, and
collaborate with researchers in local industries to develop industry-based
research.
A commitment to diversity and the ability to work with a diverse
population are required. Preference will be given to candidates with
experience in teaching, writing competitive research proposals and strong
scholarly activity and professional experience.
