Nominations and applications are invited for the position of Professor and Head, Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering in the Bagley College of Engineering. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in industrial engineering or a closely related field; a B.S. degree in engineering is desired. The successful candidate must have earned national recognition through a distinguished record of accomplishments in industrial engineering education and research, including evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels, a scholarly record of publications in archival literature, conference presentations, and the demonstrated ability to attract external funding for research. Administrative and industrial experience are desired.

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering is one of eight academic departments in the Bagley College of Engineering. The Department offers an ABET-accredited undergraduate program in industrial engineering, as well as graduate studies leading to MS and PhD degrees. The Department is composed of 180 undergraduates, 33 masters students, 50 PhD students, nine tenure-track faculty members, an instructor, and four staff members. Faculty members have developed strong research programs in applied operations research, ergonomics, logistics and transportation systems, management systems engineering, and production systems. Faculty play a vital role in various departmental, college, and university centers. The department’s annual research expenditures were $4.3M in 2010. The Department is located in the renovated McCain Engineering Building and has excellent classroom and laboratory facilities. Additional information is available at http://www.ise.msstate.edu/.
