The Engineering Management and Systems Engineering Department is seeking full-time tenured/tenure track and non-tenure track faculty members. Positions are open with respect to rank and subfield, with a preference for assistant tenure track professor and assistant teaching professors.
Tenure Track Positions (Reference Number R31006)
The department seeks two or more excellent scholars to support its main research areas including operations research, systems engineering, industrial engineering, strategic management, supply chain management, and human factors. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in engineering management, industrial engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related field. Industrial experience is desired but not required. Excellence in teaching, research, and scholarly publications must also be demonstrated. Successful applicants are expected to possess excellent written and oral communication skills along with the ability and background to teach, develop a research program, and develop new graduate and undergraduate courses in their area of specialization.
Teaching Professor Positions (Reference Number R31065)
The department seeks one or more excellent educators to support its teaching mission in engineering management, primarily at the undergraduate level. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in engineering management or a closely related field or a master’s degree and nine or more years of related experience in industry and/or higher education for appointment at the assistant/associate teaching professor level with a multi-year renewable contract. Excellence in teaching must be demonstrated. Candidates are sought in the areas of project management, operations management, risk management and strategic management.
The Engineering Management and Systems Engineering Department is one of the premier departments offering MS and PhD degrees and graduate certificates in both areas, and one of only five programs in the U.S. offering an ABET accredited BS degree in engineering management. Missouri S&T is located in Rolla and offers abundant outdoor recreational opportunities in the beautiful Ozark Mountain region with easy access to metropolitan areas.
