The Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration at The University of Alabama invites applications for two (2) tenure track faculty positions in Statistics at the rank of Assistant Professor starting August 16, 2012. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field before starting the position. In addition to conducting and directing scholarly research in the field of statistics, the position will involve teaching at the undergraduate, masters and Ph.D. levels.

Candidates must be willing and able to effectively teach MBA-level courses. Candidates with research and teaching interests in all areas of statistics are encouraged to apply, especially those with interests in data mining, business analytics, and interdisciplinary research activities. The starting salary will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments with a minimum base of $100,000. In addition, $15,000 will be provided for each summer for two years to support summer research.

The Applied Statistics program at the University of Alabama supports both an M.S. and a Ph.D. degree in Applied Statistics as well as a Business Analytics concentration in the MBA program. The Applied Statistics program is a strong and growing program whose students and faculty have benefited particularly from the program’s strong relationship with SAS.
