Assistant Professor, Computer Science (Multiple Positions)
Stony Brook Computer Science invites exceptionally qualified junior
candidates in all areas of CS to apply for multiple tenure-track
faculty positions starting in Fall 2012. Applicants should hold a
Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline and must
demonstrate superior research potential.
Candidates in the following areas are particularly encouraged to
apply: Networking, Systems, Computer Architecture, Social Networking,
Theory of Computing, Massive Data, and Web of Things.
The Department currently has more than 40 faculty members and is in a
stage of explosive expansion, including a new building, a new
Center of Excellence in Information Technology (CEWIT), along with
new graduate programs in Korea (Songdo) beginning in 2012. The
Department is also associated with the New York Center for
Computational Sciences (NYCCS) and the New York Blue supercomputer.
Stony Brook University is located 55 miles from Manhattan on Long
Island's scenic North Shore. Stony Brook University is a member of
the Association of American Universities (AAU) and co-manager of
nearby Brookhaven National Laboratory, a DOE multidisciplinary
research laboratory.
