Candidates are sought in the broad area of Design, Manufacturing and Service Systems with research expertise one or more of the following areas: Innovative Product and Process Design, Robust Design, Nano/Micro Manufacturing, Bio-medical Applications, Healthcare Systems and Energy Systems Modeling and Analysis. Candidates are expected to establish a strong, externally funded and recognized research program and to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including laboratory development.

Candidates are sought with research expertise in physical or cognitive ergonomics with applications in healthcare, defense and security, service enterprises or energy. Candidates are expected to establish a strong, externally funded andrecognized research program and to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Priority consideration will be given to candidates whoseapplications are complete by November 15, 2011.

Candidates are sought with research expertise in supply chain design and management, adaptive logistics, E-supply chains, data-intensive analytics for supply chain management and impact of energy-efficient and green technologies on supply chains. Candidates are expected to establish a strong, externally funded and recognized research program and to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

A Ph.D. in industrial engineering or closely related discipline is required.

The UB ISE department has a long history of scholarship and education in Industrial and Systems Engineering and interdisciplinary research activities through active university research centers, with other engineering departments and with UB schools of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Public Health and Health Professions, Arts and Sciences, and Architecture and Planning. The department offers graduate degree concentrations in human factors, operations research, and production systems, and has an ABET accredited undergraduate IE program.
