Transportation Engineering Faculty Position
The Department of Civil Engineering at North Dakota State University (NDSU) invites application for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the area of Transportation Engineering beginning Fall 2012. Special consideration will be given to candidates with a strong focus on transportation infrastructure sustainability including but not limited to: sustainable infrastructure rehabilitation, infrastructure sensor systems, intelligent transportation systems, and energy in transportation systems. Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching, advising students, scholarly activities, and involvement in college, university, and professional service. Development of a sponsored research program is required. Minimum qualifications are B.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, effective oral and written communication skills, and ability to interact professionally and appropriately with colleagues, students, and staff. Professional engineering registration is highly desirable. Preference will be given to those with an established record of research and teaching experiences. The department has enjoyed a rapid growth in competitive research expenditure that includes four recent NSF Career Awards. Our students have won several national competitions including six national steel bridge championship awards.
