Rensselaer’s Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) seeks qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor with a potential start date of August 2012. An earned Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline is required. Candidates must demonstrate the potential to develop an outstanding program of individual research, as well as to contribute to existing and new research thrusts within the department. Current research in the department is centered in the areas of Social and Cognitive Networks and Adaptive Supply Chains. Candidates are sought with core strengths in decision analysis and/or stochastics and with application interests in infrastructure systems management, sustainable supply chains, humanitarian logistics, disaster management and resilience engineering. Candidates should demonstrate an ability and willingness to teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the ISE curriculum. Candidates who will bring diverse intellectual, geographical, gender and ethnic perspectives to Rensselaer’s work and campus communities are particularly encouraged to apply.
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) is a private, research-oriented university in Troy, New York. The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (www.ise.rpi.edu/) is located within RPI’s School of Engineering and has approximately 140 undergraduates and 35 Ph.D. and Master’s students currently enrolled.
