The School of Information Technology invites applications from qualified candidates for a Tenure Track appointment in the School of Information Technology at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2016.

We are interested in candidates with PhD in information technology, computer science or library science with expertise in information resource management or related fields. Successful candidates are expected to pursue an active research program, perform undergraduate teaching of core courses at the graduate and undergraduate level in our Information Technology programs. Candidate will be responsible for supervision of graduate students, undergraduate directed readings and undergraduate senior projects in the Information Resource Management program. Participation in the development of the Information Resource Management program and operation of the School is an integral element of the position.

The School has nine full time faculty and offers a Bachelor of Information Technology degree in four distinct programs: Interactive Multimedia and Design, Network Technology, Photonics and Laser Technology, and new program in Information Resource Management will be launched in September 2016. All programs provide an innovative mix of courses drawing on a variety of disciplines and combine a strong foundation in academic theory with hands-on training. A Ph.D. in information technology, computer science, library science or field related to Information Resource Management is required. The successful candidate will:
  • Exhibit strong potential for innovative and scholarly research
  • Have an excellent track record of high quality research output that demonstrates potential for independent research
  • Have a track record of high quality scholarly research leading to peer assessed publications
  • Have a strong emerging research focus
  • Have a close interdisciplinary fit with some of the research being presently conducted at the School of Information Technology is an asset.
  • Demonstrate strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions
  • Demonstrate aptitude for teaching courses at the graduate and undergraduate level
  • Demonstrate evidence of an ability to work in an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment
