ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING
Job Details:The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering. This is a nine-month, full-time tenure-track position starting on August 23, 2016.

Required:
Educational background must include a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field and at least one degree in Industrial Engineering. Applicants must have at least one year of relevant experience. In addition, applicants must have excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. Applicants must be able to teach undergraduate courses such as operations research, quality engineering, operations analysis, manufacturing systems and continuous improvement.

Example courses include operations research, quality engineering, operations analysis, manufacturing systems, and continuous improvement. In addition, Industrial Engineering faculty members advise students, participate in service activities, and may teach master’s level courses online. Faculty are expected to engage in scholarly and professional development activities that enhance teaching effectiveness and professional skills, and/or provide opportunities for students to engage in undergraduate research.

The College of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science (EMS) enrolls approximately 3,400 students in ABET-accredited BS degree programs in Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Industrial, Mechanical and Software Engineering, and Engineering Physics; and BS degrees in Mathematics, Broad Field Science, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Sustainable and Renewable Energy Systems. The College of EMS also participates in a statewide Collaborative Engineering Program with BS degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. In addition, the College has a Master of Science in Engineering program, which has been designated as a “Best Buy” in online education. Students may choose a technical emphasis in Engineering Design, Applications in Engineering Management, Control (Electrical) Systems, or Structural/Geotechnical Engineering.
