Tenure-Track Faculty Positions

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology anticipates multiple openings for tenure-track positions at the assistant professor level in Mechanical Engineering. Appointments at higher ranks may be considered for applicants who have established leadership in their research field. Applicants are expected to have earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and demonstrate strong potential for establishing and maintaining a vibrant and high-impact externally funded, nationally and internationally recognized scholarly research program. They should also possess a passion for, and be committed to, excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring, and aspire to actively participate in creating and nurturing a highly collaborative, creative, innovative and entrepreneurial culture at Stevens.

The successful candidates should contribute, through their research, teaching and service, to the diversity and excellence of Stevens' academic community. Preference will be given to candidates who possess an outstanding record of accomplishment and show exceptional potential for collaborative research that complements and augments existing expertise in the focus areas of Stevens' strategic plan, including robotics technologies (e.g., sensors, actuators, structures and communication), multi-scale robotics platforms, intelligence and autonomy for robotic systems; cell/tissue biomechanics, biomaterials and biosensors; additive manufacturing technologies; and enabling energy technologies. Candidates should have expertise in experimental, computational and/or theoretical methods in areas synergistic with the faculty in the School of Engineering. Exceptional candidates with expertise outside these areas are also welcome to apply.
