The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department
at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites
applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor
of Industrial and also Manufacturing Engineering to begin Fall 2015. The Department serves approximately 500
undergraduate and graduate students.
The Positions:
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses,
advising students, conducting research, and providing service to the
department, college and university.
Candidates must be able to effectively teach theory as well as develop
innovative lab projects. Successful
candidates will help with the enhancement of research and teaching
manufacturing laboratories, and other curriculum development.
Minimum Qualifications:
· A Ph.D.
or equivalent terminal degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial
engineering or a closely-related field from accredited educational institution
by June 2015
· Excellent
written and oral communication skills
· Demonstrated
commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching
·
Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse student and community
populations
Preferred/Desired Qualifications for Manufacturing
Engineering :
* Nano, Micro and Additive manufacturing
systems
* Bio-manufacturing systems for medical
application
* Automated manufacturing systems
* Demonstrated ability in applied research and
grants in industrial or manufacturing engineering
Preferred/Desired Qualifications for Industrial
Engineering:
• Experience in
Production Planning, Human Engineering and Quality Assurance application • Experience in healthcare operations and
biomedical manufacturing will be a bonus •
Demonstrated ability in applied research and grants in industrial or
systems engineering

the duties and qualifications articulated in the position description;
* A curriculum vitae comprised of at least
those elements specified on the application form and including the names,

speak to the candidate’s potential for success in this position;
* A list of courses the candidate is prepared
to teach, courses they can teach with some additional preparation, and courses
they would like to develop;
* A transcript showing highest degree
earned(an official transcript will be required of finalists); and
* Finalists for the position will be required
to provide three recent letters of reference.
