Applications are invited for a tenured/tenure-track faculty at all ranks in the Department of Industrial Engineering (IE) within the Whitacre College of Engineering (COE), Texas Tech University (TTU), Lubbock, TX. Exceptional candidates may also be considered for endowed positions. Founded in 1934, the department is one of the first IE departments in the nation and the first in the state of Texas. The department has a distinguished history of outstanding scholarship, with recent funding from NSF, DOE, ONR, DOD and NIH, as well as for offering excellent, personalized educational opportunities. The Department of Industrial Engineering has numerous laboratory facilities, including manufacturing, ergonomics and materials characterization.

TTU is a comprehensive university that includes law and medical schools with an enrollment of more than 35,000 students total. The Whitacre COE consists of the Departments of Chemical, Civil, Construction, Electrical & Computer, Industrial, Mechanical, Petroleum Engineering and Computer Science.

Successful candidates must possess a Ph.D. in IE or closely related field, be eligible to work in the United States, and have excellent communication skills. Candidates should also demonstrate abilities in high quality research for competitive funding, teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses (including distance education), advising PhD students, and providing appropriate service to the department, university and the profession. The department is seeking applicants in the areas of manufacturing or systems.
