The Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering
(CCEE) Department at Iowa State University (ISU) seeks candidates for a tenure-track/tenured
faculty position at either assistant, associate, or full professor level. All areas of water and wastewater engineering
will be considered with particular interests in advanced technologies for potable
water and water reuse, water-energy nexus issues, contaminants of emerging
concern, and sustainable urban water cycle.
These faculty members are envisioned
to sustain their own program and complement the current research and education
efforts in the CCEE Department through interdisciplinary collaboration. Successful
candidates will teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels,
advise both graduate and undergraduate students, generate a scholarly
publication record, and participate in technical committees and outreach
activities. Candidates should have strong
communication skills and contribute to the mission of the department. For

The CCEE Department offers B.S. degree programs in civil
engineering, civil
engineering with environmental engineering emphasis,
and construction engineering plus M.S., MEng, and Ph.D. graduate degree programs
in civil engineering and maintains externally funded research in excess of $11
million annually. The department employs 42 full-time faculty members. CCEE is
committed to diversity among faculty, staff and students who can enrich

Candidates for this
position must hold a Ph.D. in environmental engineering, civil engineering or a closely related field. Associate
Professor candidates must meet the university standards for appointment to the
rank including significant experience/accomplishments in the
candidate’s area of expertise. Full Professor candidates are required to have
national distinction, international recognition and a substantial scholarly
record in addition to the aforementioned requirements.
Preferred qualifications include post-doc or professional experience in a related field,
instructional experience in appropriate technical topics, a record of
publication in related technical areas, and a record of writing contract or
grant proposals and managing contract or grant research.
