Bioengineering (2 positions):

The newly established Department of Bioengineering in the School of Engineering
at Santa Clara University is enjoying a rapid expansion in its education and
research endeavors (http://www.scu.edu/engineering/bioengineering/). The
department has an undergraduate and graduate student body of over 200 students.
We are now searching for two new tenure-track faculty members at the rank of
assistant professor to join the department beginning academic year of 2015-16.

Candidates in all areas of bioengineering are welcome to apply, although we are
particularly interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates with
research and teaching interest and expertise in the areas of
Bio-instrumentation/Bio-device engineering, Biomechanics, and Cellular and
Molecular Engineering.


Computer Engineering (2 positions):

The Department (http://www.scu.edu/engineering/cse/) offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D.
degrees in Computer Science and Engineering, with 16 full-time faculty, and a strong
pool of approximately 30 part-time adjunct faculty who instruct over 300
undergraduate majors, and about 500 part-time and full-time graduate students.
The School of Engineering maintains strong ties to local industry.
The School of Engineering is committed to improving the human condition through
engineering education, practice, and scholarship, promoting the University’s

Applicants must hold a doctorate in computer science, computer engineering, or in
a closely related field with preferred specialization in the Web, security, networks,
user experience (UX), or machine learning although strong candidates in any field
will be considered. Applicants must have a strong commitment and ability to teach
at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and must have demonstrated a
strong potential for research in computing.


Mechanical Engineering:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Santa Clara University invites
application for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor opening in the area of SOLID
MECHANICS with a specialization in Computational Mechanics. The School of
Engineering is seeking an active individual who will contribute to the teacher-scholar
environment at Santa Clara.
The department (http://www.scu.edu/engineering/me/) offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D.
degrees, with 9 full time tenure-track faculty and 4 lecturer positions, a strong pool
of adjunct faculty, approximately 260 undergraduate students, and 115 graduate
students.
Teaching areas could include materials, manufacturing, finite elements, structural
dynamics, fracture mechanics, elasticity, and computational techniques.
Development of new courses in emerging fields within the applicant’s discipline is
expected. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to develop a successful
independent research program involving both graduate and undergraduate
students and which leads to a strong record of publication. Applicants are
encouraged to consider synergies between their work and existing research
programs within the School of Engineering and/or Silicon Valley industries.
