The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Lehigh University invites applications for a Professor of
Practice position
in
Healthcare Systems Engineering
(HSE). We welcome
applications from experienced individuals with strong backgrounds
in healthcare operations and management and
knowledge of systems engineering in healthcare. Ideally candidates would have
a Master’s or PhD degree in Industrial Engineering,
Management, Hospital
Administration,
or a related area and a substantial experience in
the healthcare field.
The Professor of Practice will serve as program
administrator of the HSE Master’s degree program, and will be responsible for student recruiting and advising, and will be heavily involved in program
development. He or she will also be responsible for developing and teaching healthcare systems courses, organizing and
supervising student projects
in the program’s capstone course, establishing relationships
with industry and government agencies, developing and working
with the HSE Industry Advisory Council. The initial appointment is for three years, and is renewable.
The HSE program had its first class in 2011 and has quickly grown to be one of the leading such programs in the country. The
program
currently has over 50 active
students, an active
and supportive Industrial Advisory Council with 30 corporate members, and many active research
projects.
Established in 1926, the ISE Department currently has 18 full-time
faculty members, about 165
undergraduate and 240 graduate students, 40 of whom are Ph.D. students. We
offer comprehensive research and education programs at the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. levels.
