The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2016. We are particularly interested in applicants with specialties broadly related to embedded and reconfigurable computing and physical approaches to cyber and information security and related multidisciplinary computer engineering topics, but applications from all areas of electrical and computer engineering will be considered.

The Position
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and the potential to establish a research program that involves both undergraduate and graduate students. Teaching responsibilities will include both introductory and advanced courses, as well as assisting in curriculum development. The applicant will be expected to advise students; serve on department, college and university committees; and engage in professional activities. Applicants whose work supports the university's Learn by Doing philosophy and demonstrates a commitment to both the highest standards of professional ethics and to diversity in higher education are particularly encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Completion of a Ph.D. in electrical or computer engineering or a related area from an accredited university by July 1, 2016, and a background appropriate for the rank of Assistant Professor
  • Demonstrated ability to be responsive to the educational equity goals of the university and to support its ethnic diversity and international character
Preferred/Desired Qualifications
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level, particularly in laboratory or project courses
  • Research and/or industrial experience
  • Demonstrated potential for developing innovative lecture and laboratory curricula
  • Demonstrated potential for securing contracts and grants for applied research and/or for establishing industrial collaborations

  • A copy of transcripts showing the highest degree earned or in progress

  • Finalists for the position will be required to provide three recent letters of reference (PDF format by email preferred) and an official transcript showing the highest degree earned.
