Director, General Engineering
The Clemson University General Engineering Program invites
applications and nominations for the Director of the General Engineering
Program. The General Engineering Program comprises all first-time engineering
freshman (~1,100 students) and transfer engineering students in the College of
Engineering and Science. This program is designed to help integrate the
engineering student into the engineering curriculum utilizing SCALE-UP and
other collaborative style learning environments.
The College seeks a Director excited to provide significant
leadership and administrative experience in building world-class educational
programs that bring together the latest in integrated educational experiences
while also developing philanthropic gifts and endowments for the General
Engineering Program. The successful candidate will be prepared to provide a
vision that will propel the General Engineering Program as a leader in the
education of first year students. The Director serves as the executive officer
of the program and reports to the Dean of the College of Engineering and Science.
Candidates are expected to merit the rank of Professor or Associate Professor
with tenure in one of the college’s degree-granting departments and be a
national leader with an exemplary record in STEM teaching, scholarship, and/or
