NOTES:
The School of Chemical Engineering seeks nominations and applications for a tenure-track faculty position. Candidates shall have an earned doctorate in Chemical Engineering or closely related area and display a strong interest in both undergraduate and graduate education. The applicant will build a sustainable research program in an area that augments the OSU research portfolio and has strong potential to attract extramural funding. Industrial experience in Chemical Engineering is considered an asset.
Our thirteen faculty members instruct 300 undergraduates with an
emphasis on both contemporary industrial practice and on scientific
fundamentals. Our students have earned numerous national recognitions
(Plant Design Contest, Chem-Car Contest, FE Exam, Scholarships, Outstanding
Student Chapter, paper presentations, and others), and are well-prepared for
both careers in industry and graduate education. Currently, 50 graduate
students are investigating a broad range of topics in our comprehensive MS and
PhD program. Strengths in graduate education and research include biomedical
engineering, process engineering (design, modeling, simulation, optimization,
and control), thermodynamics and molecular design, materials, and
separations. The School enjoys strong support from alumni, friends, and
industry; providing seven endowed chairs and professorships, faculty
development endowments, and numerous research and educational
