POSITION: Assistant Professor, Tenure Track Position

The Department of Construction Management and Engineering
(CM&E) at North Dakota State University (NDSU) invites applications for one
tenure-track position in building mechanical or electrical systems at the rank
of Assistant Professor. The anticipated start date is on August 16,
2014. NDSU is an ADVANCE Institution and a Carnegie Very High Research
Activity Institution.
Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in
construction engineering, architectural engineering, civil engineering,
mechanical engineering or electrical engineering; 0-3 years of relevant
industry experience; and demonstrated teaching and research skills.
Preferred Qualifications: 5-years of relevant industry
experience; relevant professional registration and/or certifications (PE and/or
CPC); college level teaching and research experience, and knowledge about ACCE
and/or ABET accreditation.
Responsibilities: Teaching undergraduate and
graduate courses; advising undergraduate students, master students, and Ph.D.
students; developing and maintaining a sponsored research program; publishing
research results in the peer-reviewed journals; and providing service to the
department, college, university, the industries, and professional
organizations.

of achievements that clearly articulates how the applicant’s academic skills
and experience will contribute to the development of the department,
specifically in the areas of teaching, research, and service; 2) current
curriculum vita, including evaluation of teaching effectiveness if available;

and 4) a copy of transcript shown graduate level courses.

About the Department: The first construction
degree program at NDSU was approved in 1969 by the North Dakota Board of
Higher Education with the support of the Associated General
Contractors (AGC) of North Dakota. Students began to enroll in the
program in the fall of 1970. The Construction Management and Engineering
(CM&E) Department was established at NDSU in 1978. Within the Department,
the Program of Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering is accredited by
the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and
Technology (ABET) and is the third oldest ABET accredited
construction engineering program in the United States. The Program of Bachelor
of Science in Construction Management is accredited by the American Council for
Construction Education (ACCE). More information about the
