The College of Engineering at Purdue University invites applications from outstanding candidates to join the Purdue Systems Initiative, a vibrant, multi-disciplinary community of scholars who are committed to building the science of systems. Appointments will be at a professional rank (Assistant/Associate/Full) commensurate with the candidate's credentials, and in the School(s) within the College of Engineering that best match the candidate's education, experience and interests. Joint appointments with other Colleges at Purdue University are possible.
We seek candidates with expertise in, but not limited to, one or more of the following multi-disciplinary areas: i) Multi-Scale Modeling, ii) Uncertainty Modeling and Management, iii) Network Science, and iv) Decision-Making and Human Behavior Modeling. In addition to the methodological expertise, we expect the candidates to have domain expertise that will complement Purdue’s strengths in areas of national need, such as energy, manufacturing and services, transportation, water, global enterprises, defense, environment and ecology, and healthcare.
Faculty of Engineering Practice: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral level degree(s) in engineering or related field or at least five years of experience in industry and/or government related fields relevant to systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three year, renewable, non-tenure track faculty position. The faculty member will leverage their practical experience to lead the educational and engagement efforts of the Purdue Systems Initiative. They will develop and teach courses in systems, and facilitate interactions with collaborators inside and outside Purdue University.

Tenure Track Faculty: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral level degree(s) in systems research or related field, who have demonstrated research and teaching excellence. The tenure-track or tenured faculty appointment will be at a professional rank (Assistant/Associate/Full) commensurate with the candidate's credentials. Exceptional candidates will be considered for appointments to named and distinguished professorships. The faculty member will be expected to develop strong, externally-funded research programs, develop and teach innovative curricula, and help advance the frontiers of knowledge.
